2027 Champions Tour

Tour Rules

Everything you need to know before teeing it up on the Golf in Scotland Champions Tour.

Eligibility

  • Players must be aged 50 or over at their first event.
  • Players must be a member of a Scottish or English Golf Club with an active handicap.
  • iGolf, OpenPlay and Society handicaps are not eligible.

Competition Format

  • Every event is an official Open Competition and counts towards your national handicap.
  • Events are played from Yellow Tees for Gents and Red Tees for Ladies.
  • Full Stableford scoring applies.
  • The field will be split into sections depending on the handicap range of entrants.

Your Tournament Score

  • Your scores from all four events combine to form your tournament total.
  • The aim is to accumulate the most Stableford points across three regional events and one final.
  • Tournament fees must be paid in full before the final round.

Payments & Withdrawals

  • 2027 pricing and deposit details are TBC.
  • Once the 2027 deposit is confirmed, it will be non-refundable because it secures your final venue place.
  • Players withdrawing within 48 hours of their tee time, or failing to attend, may be liable for the green fee.
  • A player who fails to attend without notice may be removed from the tour.

Championship Rules

  • The championship is played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as laid down by The R&A.
  • Golf in Scotland reserves the right to alter the tournament format where necessary.
  • Golf in Scotland reserves the right to adjust player handicaps for tournament purposes where permitted by the event rules.

International Finals

  • Players can win only one place at the international finals in Turkey.
  • If a qualifying player cannot attend the international finals, there is no cash alternative.
  • International finalists from the previous year receive a two-shot tournament handicap reduction throughout the season.
Tournament Integrity

Handicap Review

To protect the integrity of the Golf in Scotland Champions Tour, the organisers reserve the right to disqualify a player or players where the tournament committee determines, in its absolute discretion, that a handicap is inaccurate when compared with actual playing ability.

The committee may consider any or all of the following:

  • Handicap history.
  • Previous tournament and competition results.
  • Current sanctions from other national golf tournaments or county/national golf administrative bodies.
  • The relevance and volume of completed qualifying competitions during the previous 36 months.
  • Complaints in the public domain and other handicap inconsistencies brought to the organisers' attention.

Golf in Scotland reserves the right to alter the format or tournament-specific handicap arrangements where required.

On-course competitions: Additional event-day rules will be detailed on your event paperwork.

Closest to the Pin

Closest to the Pin competitions are run on Par 3 holes. The ball must finish on the putting green and closer to the hole than the current marker to count.

Longest Drive

Longest Drive competitions will be handicap-sectioned and detailed on the day. The ball must finish on the fairway to count.

Last Man Standing

This optional side competition offers another route to our international finals in Turkey. Full rules are supplied at the events.

If you win through Last Man Standing, you are removed from the main event leaderboards for international qualification purposes and cannot qualify through another route.

Wild Cards

Wild Card places may be offered at our end-of-season finals. Full rules will be explained at the event and on your event paperwork.

A Wild Card winner can hold only one international-finals place and cannot qualify through another route.
