Champions Tour Rules
- Players must be aged 50 or over at their first event to take part in the tour.
- Every event is an official open competition and will count towards your national handicap.
- Every event will be played from yellow tees and full Stableford scoring will be in place.
- The field of players will be split in to sections depending upon the spectrum of the handicaps of our entrants.
- The cost of the tour is £190 per person and includes 4 rounds of golf.
- If a player fails to play all 4 rounds of golf, the cost is still £190 per person.
- Any player failing to show up for their tee time, or withdrawing within 48 hours of their tee time, will be liable for the green fee.
- Any player failing to show up for their tee time without any notice will be removed from tour.
- The players scores from each of their 4 events will combine to complete their tournament score.
- The goal is to accumulate the most stableford points over 4 rounds of golf, 3 regional events and a final event.
- The fee of £190 must be paid in full before the final round.
- The championship will be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as laid down by The R&A.
- Players can only win 1 space at our international finals in Turkey.
- If a player can't make the international finals week in Turkey, there is no cash alternative.
- In order to preserve the integrity of The Golf in Scotland Champions Tour, the organisers’ reserve the right to disqualify a player or players from the tournament in the event that the tournament committee determines, in its absolute discretion, that a player’s handicap is inaccurate when compared with their actual playing ability. The tournament committee will determine whether a player’s handicap is inaccurate by taking into consideration any or all of the following:
- Handicap history review;
- Previous tournament/competition results;
- Current sanctions from any other national golf tournaments or from any County or National golf administrative bodies;
- Judgement on the relevance of completed qualifying competitions within the past 36 months;
- Complaints which are in the public domain and any other handicap inconsistencies that are brought to our attention
- Golf in Scotland reserves the right to alter the format at any time.
- Golf in Scotland reserves the right to adjust players handicaps as they see fit for tournament purposes.
On Course Competitions
Closest To Pin
- At all of our events, we will run Closest To The Pin Competitions on the Par 3 Holes
- Golf balls must be on the green and closer to the hole than where the marker is found.
Longest Drive
- At all of our events, we will run Longest Drive competitions
- These will be handicap sectioned and detailed on the day of the event
- Golf balls must be on the fairway to count.
Last Man Standing
- This is an optional side competition which gives you another chance to try and win your way to our international finals in Turkey.
- The rules will be explained at the events and detailed on your event paperwork.
- If you win our Last Man Standing competiton, you will be removed from our event leaderboards and be awarded a spot at our international finals through Last Man Standing.
- You can only win 1 space at our International Finals.
- If you win through Last Man Standing, you can't win through any other routes.
Wild Cards
- We may offer Wild Card trips to our International Finals at our end of season finals.
- The rules will be explained at the events and detailed on your event paperwork.
- If you win a Wild Card, you will be removed from our event leaderboards and be awarded a spot at our international finals through our Wild Card Competition.
- You can only win 1 space at our International Finals.
- If you win through a Wild Card, you can't win through any other routes.
